As the cold weather sets in, there's nothing more comforting than a warm, cheesy pasta bake. Food blogger Eva has an easy recipe that allows you to make a delicious pasta bake right in your convection steam oven, without having to precook the pasta. The ingredients are simple - a pound of uncooked pasta like rigatoni, a pound of meat like chicken sausage, pepperoni, pasta sauce, chopped giardiniera, onions, and Italian cheese like mozzarella, parmesan, and provolone. Eva recommends mixing most of the ingredients together in a bowl first, except for 2 cups of shredded mozzarella which will be added later. Put this mixture into an ungreased casserole dish. Place the uncovered casserole on a wire rack in your convection steam oven on level 2. This allows the steam to fully circulate and prevent the pasta from drying out. Then set the oven to convection humid mode at 375°F for 45 minutes initially. This keeps the environment moist while the pasta bakes. After 45 minutes, top the dish with the reserved 2 cups of shredded mozzarella and put it back in the convection steam oven for 10-15 more minutes until the cheese is browned and bubbling. Let the pasta bake rest for 10 minutes before serving garnished with fresh basil and paired with your favorite beverage. Eva notes how the convection steam oven does all the work for you in keeping the pasta bake moist. The result is amazing pasta made from the convenience of your appliance! This easy, cheesy pasta bake is sure to please on a cold night. Give it a try in your convection steam oven for perfect pasta and comfort every time.
